24 Hour Holter monitoring

A Holter Monitor is a portable electrocardiogram (ECG) used to continuously monitor a patient's heart for a duration of up to 24-72 hours usually depending on your symptoms and doctor’s evaluation for finding a suitable diagnosis . Usually it is done for the ongoing symptoms of palpitations /dizziness/presyncope or syncope evaluation. Also, In order to diagnose several types or arrythmias your doctor may recommend it . Duration of the Holter monitor depends on frequency and duration of the symptoms.

A Holter Monitor is used to assess the rhythm of the heart as the patient goes about their normal daily activities. A Holter Monitor is often used to assess whether a rhythm disturbance is responsible for a patient’s symptoms.

It can also be used to assess the effectiveness of medications on the heart rate and / or heart rhythm.
